Elegant Jewels

It is Cec here and I am your hostess for the current challenge. I am calling it Elegant Jewels and here is how I describe it: Let's make a vintage or shabby chic project in jewel tone colours such as deep purple, emerald green, jade green, burgundy, bright turquoise to name a few AND to make your project extra special, add some sort of jewel or gem, which can be anything from a dollar store find to a piece of broken jewelry.

The winner will earn the chance of a Guest Designer spot here at Frilly and Funkie, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. And there are Top 3 Badges for three further outstanding entries, chosen by the Design Team.

The guidelines for entering are simple; create a new vintage or shabby chic project following the challenge theme, link it below to your post (not just your blog) and also include a link back to this challenge in your post. You can combine our challenge with up to 10 challenges (including this one) to have a chance of winning. If you are entering through a public forum (such as Instagram) you'll need to include the words Frilly and Funkie Challenge. Also, please be sure to turn off your Word Verification so our Design Team can leave comments on your blogs. Make sure you follow these rules as unfortunately we have had to eliminate entrants from the prize draws in the past.

This week the Funkie side of the team are here with some wonderful inspiration for you. To get the details of their creations, just click on their blog names and you will be taken directly to their posts.

  1. So bright & perky!
I think these are great pieces of inspiration- esp in April; the DIAMOND month!
(The younger Son was born April 14th!)
The idea of jewels means this page will fill up with color not unlike a Mother's Ring!

  2. I'm not sure if my entry is jewel toned enough?! If it isn't please do delete it, but I did try to use rich colours so am hoping that it does. Wonderful inspirations from the talented DT, as always, thank you for the challenge too x

  3. Well, my situation just sucks. We just got finished Sunday laying flooring totally throughout our entire home, & every single item was washed/cleaned during that 1 & 1/2 month process (any time we were not busy w the usual- it was work on it to finish). The very last items properly placed last night so I could finish my project & post it today.
And I wake up with an RA flareup (yep; probably pushed too hard with everything... I’ll let the ChiefHubby be right just this ONCE)!
So here I am stuck in bed w the meds on board finally giving some relief. But every single bone & RA ‘point’ is extremely swollen & painful. So I will miss THIS deadline also.

I WILL finish the project as soon as the swelling goes down (praise GOD for iPhone ‘handicapped touch’ so it is easier to type when this happens, but being up is a no-go.

I AM lifted up that I have in-bed access to at least view everyone else’s project!!!
And while mine sits on my studio desk crying out “FINISH ME!!!”, I can at least say all my parts & pieces are already chosen & laid out.
If only I could cross my arms & blink: instantly colorized & glued!! But THAT would take all the FUN out of it, huh?!?!
ChiefHubby knows this was a HUGE BUMMER as he helped go so fast just so I could meet this deadline- even while he had a bout of the flu himself!! (He knows the Frilly& Funkie are my friends & it’s the only challenge that I’m committing to.)
And these are ALL SO FABULOUS!!!
    W a FANTASTIC Guest Design & Designer!
Good Luck, folks, & see u next F&F Challenge!!!
